I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm a bad driver. My attention wanders, and that makes me dangerous to other cars on the road. As a result, I try to take limited access highways with few intersections, back roads with less traffic, and I try to drive at hours when there isn't much traffic. That actually helps me with my other driving, because when I'm on a busy highway, it tends to keep me more attentive. And I try to leave in plenty of time, so that I can be extremely courteous and deferential to other drivers. Hey, no hurry, you can go first.
On the other hand, there are sumbitches who are particularly aggressiver drivers, ones who don't think the law applies to them. I think this driver must've had a fight with his wife before he left the house. Maybe he was served with legal papers earlier in the day Wednesday. He damn near ran me off the road in Willow Street, shortly after noon. He kept wandering in and out of his lane as he approached Lancaster, forcing cars going both the same direction and the opposite direction to duck onto the berm, and I was sure I was going to see a really big wreck. Could he possibly have been drunk this early in the day? I don't know what the guy's troubles were, but I took these pictures because I thought the guy might end up being a hit-and-run.

Observing Him
It wasn't safe for me to write down the name of trucker, and I wasn't going to do the kind of cowboy driving necessary to ensure I got a good view of the driver's door. I believe he's an owner-operator, rather than part of a fleet. You can see the back of his truck here as he enters Lancaster from the south, and of course, his license number.
I suppose I should have called 911 and gotten the police to follow him, but my cellphone was in my pants pocket, and I couldn't easily retrieve it. I keep my camera in my coat pocket, where it's always easy to grab, assuming that I'm wearing my coat. I don't do that with my cell because I take off my coat when I get home, and if I leave the phone in my coat pocket on the downstairs door, it doesn't get recharged, and I miss calls.
If You Know Him
In any case, if you know this guy, tell him there's a guy on the internet that says it's only by the grace of God that he isn't in prison on charges of second degree murder. Driving a big truck like that, in a manner like that, is like firing an AK-47 in Sunday School.
If you have access to the Pennsylvania state records, you might want to see who insures the truck bearing the FT-6504H license plate, and give his insurance agent a heads up. It's not just the insurance company that pays losses - it can cost the insurance agent tens of thousands of dollars in commissions and bonuses if one of his customers gets into a really expensive accident.
